BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Zingers Deli in Boca Raton received multiple violations over several days of inspection by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The restaurant was not ordered closed.

Per BocaNewsNow.com policy, we are publishing the verbatim report — without editing — filed by the DBPR concerning the restaurant at 7132 Beracasa Way. The first inspection was conducted on March 27th, 2023. The second was conducted on March 28th.

High Priority – Live, small flying insects in kitchen, food preparation area, food storage area and/or bar area. At prep area table with meat slicer — observed approximately 1 small flying insect landing on prep table.

High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. At prep area table by cook line- casserole 48-50F- cold holding- operator states food not prepared or portioned today- food out of temperature for 30 minutes- operator placed food in reach in cooler to quick chill. **Corrective Action Taken**

High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food required to be date marked is not date marked and time of opening/preparation cannot be determined. See stop sale. At tall reach in cooler- quart of milk not date marked- expiration date on milk carton 3/12/2023- see stop sale.

High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food, other than whole meat roast, hot held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit. At steam table by cookline- mashed potatoes 110-134F- hot holding, chicken soup 102-127F- hot holding- operator states food out of temperature for 30 minutes- operator placed on stove to be reheated.

Intermediate – No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees. To order approved program food safety material, call DBPR contracted provider: Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.

Basic – Ceiling vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance- by dry storage area.

Basic – Current Hotel and Restaurant license not displayed.

Basic – Hood filter missing from automatic fire suppression/exhaust system- at cookline.

Basic – Insect control device installed over food preparation area. At dry storage area- bug zapper stored over clean large pot.

Basic – Wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses. At reach in cooler prep table at cookline- damp/ soiled wiping cloth stored on cutting board- operator removed. **Corrected On-Site**

Zingers was reinspected on March 28th, 2023. The following issues remained:

Intermediate – – From initial inspection : Intermediate – No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees. To order approved program food safety material, call DBPR contracted provider: Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.

Basic – – From initial inspection : Basic – Insect control device installed over food preparation area. At dry storage area- bug zapper stored over clean large pot. – From follow-up inspection 2023-03-28: **Time Extended**

Basic – – From initial inspection : Basic – Current Hotel and Restaurant license not displayed. – From follow-up inspection 2023-03-28: **Time Extended**

Basic – – From initial inspection : Basic – Ceiling vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance- by dry storage area. – From follow-up inspection 2023-03-28: **Time Extended**

Another inspection is pending, according to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
