I-95 At Standstill. Heading South? Find Another Route…

UPDATE: 4:35 p.m. — The good news: this situation is cleared. The bad news: it’s generally bad on all major roads as the evening rush gets underway. Roads are slick and rain is falling in many places. Please drive carefully this afternoon.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major crash in the area of I-95 and Ives Dairy Road in Avenutra is creating traffic havoc all the way into Broward County as of 1:55 p.m. Monday.
The southbound crash is backing up traffic for miles — and Total Traffic and Weather Network (TTWN) says the delays are growing. A quick look at FDOT cameras suggests the delays are lengthy and increasing.
While Palm Beach County traffic is not affected as of nearly 2 p.m., the backups could conceivably start approaching northern Broward County — and then PBC — as the afternoon continues. Slick roads are creating problems throughout the tri-county area.
If you are driving this afternoon, we suggest leaving early and preparing for a lengthy drive home. If you are heading south into south Broward County or into Miami-Dade, find a route other than I-95.
…This is a developing story. Check back for updates…
