BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Broward County public schools will open Monday morning, on-time and without school reassignments. School officials were concerned as late as Friday that the school schedule would be disrupted again on Monday due to the aftermath of last week’s floods. The school district announce late Sunday that all buildings are fine and school will resume — as scheduled — Monday.

This is the official announcement: “BCPS will resume normal operations on Monday, April 17, 2023. All school campuses and administrative offices will be open. Afterschool care, events and activities will also operate on a normal schedule.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Earlean C. Smiley thanks District staff, along with our local and state government partners, for their efforts in restoring our schools from the historic rainfall, and especially the team on the ground working throughout the weekend to ensure schools are safe for students and staff on Monday.”

Private schools set their own schedules and follow their own rules. Anyone with questions concerning private school closures or delays should reach out to the specific private school for details.
