BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is facing a charge of “aggravated battery with a deadly weapon” after allegedly stabbing his roommate multiple times.
Kyle Hoffman of the unit block of Camino Real in Boca Raton remains in the Palm Beach County Jail Saturday morning. He was arrested on Friday.
According to a Boca Raton Police Report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Hoffman engaged in a dispute with a roommate over laundry and rent on Thursday evening. That led to a physical altercation where Hoffman allegedly took a butcher’s knife from the kitchen and stabbed the man police describe as a victim. The stabbing apparently occurred after Hoffman became aggressive with the victim and the victim tried to fight back.
“The victim then attempted to pin Hoffman down on his back to restrain him from any further violence,” states the police report. “While the victim was on top pinning the suspect’s shoulders down to retrain him, Hoffman armed himself with a butcher knife. Hoffman then stabbed the victim underneath his chin with the butcher knife causing a puncture wound (approximately one inch long). The victim started bleeding prpofusely and said ‘you just stabbed me.’ Hoffman responded ‘I was defending myself.'”
The victim was transported to Delray Medical Center where staffers told police that the victim suffered “two full thickness lacerations” which required five stitches.
Kyle Hoffman was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bond.
