BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 37-year-old Coconut Creek man was killed early Friday morning when his car flipped while exiting I-95 Southbound at Congress Avenue. The man’s identity has not yet been revealed. Police were still notifying his next of kin mid-day Friday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2023 BMW X5 when he “failed to observe the right curve to exit onto access road to State Road 807 (Congress Avenue), continued in a southerly direction where the BMW collided with the raised curbed median separating eastbound/westbound lanes of the access road.”
Investigators added that, “post-collision with curbed median, the BMW continued in a southerly direction where its front collided with concrete barrier wall along the outside shoulder of eastbound access road to northbound Interstate 95. Post-collision with the barrier wall, the BMW flipped up onto its front, and subsequently came to final rest upon the outside shoulder of the eastbound access road to northbound Interstate 95; with its rear end facing upwards.”
Boca Raton Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene more medical assistance. D-1 succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of the traffic crash and was pronounced deceased by Boca Raton Fire Rescue at the traffic crash scene. This is still an ongoing investigation.
