PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An accidental alarm activation at a hangar on the grounds of Palm Beach International Airport led to the unintended deployment of foam. A lot of foam. A whole lot of foam.

The incident occurred Friday morning. Foam was apparently still seen floating around the hangar area Friday afternoon. There was no fire and it was not immediately clear why the foam fire retardant deployed. No one was injured.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue confirms the incident to BocaNewsNow.com but was only involved for a brief period time. Firefighters quickly realized their was no fire and actually no emergency. They showed up, observed, and departed. A Fire Rescue spokesperson issued this statement:

“At approximately 8:25 this morning, PBCFR ARFF Units were dispatched to a general aviation hangar on PBIA property for a fire alarm.  There was no actual fire, but the foam system was discharged prior to our arrival on scene.  There were no reports of injury.”
