DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The senior living community of Kings Point in Delray Beach just logged another resident arrest. It is the 13th arrest of a Kings Point resident in 2023, and the 36th arrest of a Kings Point Delray Beach resident since the start of 2022.

Donald Kelley of the Burgandy section of Kings Point was taken into custody by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday morning and booked into jail around 9 a.m. He is officially charged with receiving payment as a contractor even though he allegedly does not have a contractor’s license and engaging in a contracting business without possessing a license. He was released on $3,000 bond.

It was not immediately clear what led police to suspect that Kelley was engaged in criminal activity, or whether a Palm Beach County resident was victimized as a result of the alleged crime. The affidavit of probable cause continues to be processed early Friday morning.

Kelley is the 13th Kings Point Delray Beach resident to be arrested in 2023, and 36th since the start of 2022. BocaNewsNow.com believes that more Kings Point residents have been arrested over the past 18-months than residents of any other South Palm Beach County community. Other arrested residents include people accused of drug dealing, drunk driving, sex offenses, battery, a man who allegedly shot at someone for walking their dog on a golf course, a woman who resisted arrest, and more.
