BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — As seemingly rude owners of dogs continue to bring them into places where they do not belong, BocaNewsNow.com is providing details on how to file a complaint with Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Florida Department of Agriculture. While you can certainly call the police on dog owners who you believe are violating state and federal law by bringing dogs into restaurants and supermarkets, you can also file a complaint that could lead to fines — or even a temporary shutdown — of restaurants and supermarkets that permit non-trained-service dogs into their establishments. We have that information below as we remind readers that Emotional Service Animals are NOT trained service dogs, according to federal regulations.
But first, we start with another round of Boca Rudeton™ — a look at the people who bring dogs into places where they are not allowed. Our first stop: Publix in the Fifth Avenue Shops in Boca Raton. The woman below apparently felt it necessary to gamble the health safety of everyone in the store while gambling her money on a lottery ticket.
At Duffy’s on St. Andrews Blvd. in Boca Raton, the couple below apparently wanted to enjoy a meal out with a dog. Lucky for them, everyone else in the restaurant got to enjoy the dog as well, even though non-officially-trained-service dogs are prohibited from being in restaurants at all.
If you wonder why Amazon and Walmart.com do so well, it may be because people don’t want to go to the mall and deal with people and their dogs. Malls are malls, They aren’t dog parks. But this couple walking a dog into Saks in the Boca Raton Town Center Mall on Sunday apparently confused the two. Why do you need a dog in a mall? (Seriously, it’s not the first part of a joke. Why do you need a dog in a mall?)
And at Ben’s Deli in Boca Raton, this ball of fur may be cute, but is not allowed to be in a restaurant. We don’t know why it was there or whether Ben’s asked the couple to take the dog outside. Another diner in the restaurant was frustrated that the dog in a place where humans were trying to enjoy a meal.
If you would like to file a complaint about a restaurant or supermarket that seems to be illegally permitting dogs inside, use the following links to connect with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Florida Department of Agriculture. (File Restaurant Complaint Here. File Supermarket Complaint Here). While your results may vary, we do remind you that you can always call the police if you believe a dog is illegally in a restaurant or supermarket, and the store is refusing to take action. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office permits you to file police reports online if you do not need an officer to respond.
We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. We also remind those who say “but I can’t leave my dog in my hot car” that you could solve the problem by leaving your dog at home.
