DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Delray Beach Police officials said very little during a Monday afternoon news conference held to share information about the woman whose remains were found in three suitcases floating on the Intracoastal. Investigator Kelly said that he wouldn’t discount the possibility that the suitcases entered in the Intracoastal in another county, but was focused on the suitcases entering the water in the greater Delray Beach area — within roughly a mile of the where the bags were found in the area of the Intracoastal and Casurina Road. He asked anyone with a surveillance camera in the area to review footage for someone moving multiple suitcases.

The victim is identified as a woman, 33 years of age to 55 years of age, of Latin or Caucasian decent. She was likely 5’4” and was placed into the suitcases with a floral top that was apparently made the Betzabe brand which was identified as a Brazilian company. It’s believed she entered the water between Monday, July 17th, and early the morning of July 20th. The remains were in the early stages of decomposition at the time they were recovered.

Anyone with information is asked to call Delray Beach Police Detective Mike Liberta at 561-243-7874. The following is the information previously released by Delray Beach Police to BocaNewsNow.com.

Delray Beach police detectives found a suitcase in the water with human remains inside. It appears to be the remains of an adult female. The victim was taken to the medical examiner’s office for further examination. Update: The victim is a w
