OFFICIAL REPORT: “Sewage backing up through floor drains.”

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Sewage backing up through floor drains at the IPIC Theater at 50 SE 5th Avenue in Delray Beach led to a warning from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The theater received two “high priority” violations, three “intermediate” violations, and three “basic” violations during its inspection on July 20th.
The theater, restaurant, bar, and food service areas were not ordered to shut down. The facility did better during a follow-up inspection the next day. High Priority – Sewage/wastewater backing up through floor drains. Upon arrival, wait station was closed and south side of building closed to the public. Employees cleaning area, and plumber had already fixed the blockage. Kitchen located on the north side of the building, which was not effected. **Corrective Action Taken** **Warning**
High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit….calamari 47°, shrimp 46°, shredded cheese 49° , béchamel 48° in flip top reach in cooler being held an hour , employee moved to walk in cooler , bechamel discarded. **Corrective Action Taken** **Warning**

Basic – No handwashing sign provided at a hand sink used by food employees at bar. **Warning**
Basic – Working containers of food removed from original container not identified by common name…water spray bottle. Chef labeled. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**
The theater was reinspected on July 21st. An inspector logged no violations. IPIC was not ordered to close at any time during the inspection and reinspection process.
