PARKLAND, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A reenactment of the massacre that left 17 students and faculty members dead at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland in 2018 will lead to several road closures near the school on Friday. The reenactment is being carried out to offer parents — and families — of those killed an attempt at closure, while documenting sights and sounds for potential civil suits against county and police agencies.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office: “Beginning at 2 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, the Broward Sheriff’s Office Parkland district will begin to shut down roads surrounding Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School ahead of a visit by several members of Congress and victim’s family members to the 1200 Building and a subsequent court-ordered simulation at this location.”
Here are the road closures: From the south, Coral Springs Drive/Pine Island Road will be shut down beginning at Westview Drive in Coral Springs to just past Holmberg Road to the north.
From the west, Holmberg Road will be shut down from the Heron Bay Boulevard roundabout near Westglades Middle School to just past Pine Island Road to the east.

It is unclear how long the simulation will last, but expect closures and delays in the area for several hours.
