BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man was killed early Tuesday in a motorcycle crash in Pompano Beach. Police have identified the victim as 30-year-old Bradley Loveridge of Butera Plaza. The following was provided to BOCANEWSNOW.come by the Broward Sheriff’s Office:
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that killed a man in Pompano Beach early this morning. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Aug. 22, near the 500 block of East Copans Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed Bradley Loveridge was traveling on a red 2018 Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle westbound on East Copans Road, approaching an area where the road curves. According to investigators, Loveridge failed to negotiate the curve properly, and the Kawasaki departed from the roadway. The motorcycle struck a raised concrete curb, continued over the center median, and traveled into eastbound lanes before falling onto its side.
Detectives say the motorcyclist was ejected from the vehicle during the fall and that the driver and Kawasaki slid across the roadway and struck a metal guardrail along the south side of the roadway. The motorcyclist then came to a final rest at the guardrail, while the two-wheeled vehicle ricocheted off the guardrail and continued westbound in the eastbound lanes before coming to a final rest. BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene. Excessive speed is considered a contributing factor to the cause of the crash. The investigation continues.
