BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton condominium association is reminding the owners of a a condo in its community that paying fees and dues isn’t optional. The owners allegedly owe nearly $19,000 in fees that have largely not been paid since October of 2021.
According to a complaint just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court and reviewed by BOCANEWSNOW.com, David and Renee Magi own a unit in the building at 4201 North Ocean Boulevard. Since October 31, 2021, condo association and related payments have been largely non-existent, with the exception of small checks written by the Magi’s in January of 2022 and March of 2022.
The complaint alleges that the owners owe $18,051 in “quarterly maintenance from the 4th quarter of 2021 through the 4th quarter of 2022,” $1,658.58 for fees assessed during 2021, and interest in the amount of $1,486.21, and $195 in legal fees. The couple did apparently pay $2600 in early 2022.
The suit seeks immediate payment, or the Court’s permission to file a lien of foreclosure on the property. Public records indicate that David and Renee Magi purchased the unit for $457,000 in October of 2016, and that it now has an assessed value of $675,000, with taxes of $6851.
