PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office police boat was rammed by the captain of another vessel — allegedly full of immigrants — Friday morning. That captain is now in police custody facing charges. PBSO issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com.
“Shortly after 9:00 am, PBSO Marine Unit deputy intercepted a vessel east of the Jupiter Inlet. Upon making contact with the Captain on board, the Captain rammed the PBSO Marine Unit Vessel damaging two engines. PBSO Helicopter and additional marine unit vessels pursued the suspect vessel.
The boat captain beached the vessel just north of the Juno pier when he was immediately apprehended by responding road patrol deputies and Jupiter police officers. Currently 14 immigrants have been detained and will be turned over to Border Patrol. The boat captain, Bazaeluis Francois, DOB: 3/03/1993, has been arrested for two counts of Aggravated Battery on a Police Officer.”
PBSO tells BocaNewsNow.com that the investigation continues.
