Palm Beach County is offering free money for exactly that purpose! Here is the official announcement from PBC, what you need to know, and what hat you need to do.
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Palm Beach County’s Department of Housing and Economic Development (HED) announces the availability of HOME Investments Partnership First-Time Homebuyer Program funds. Funding will provide up to $100,000 to assist income-eligible applicants with acquiring their first home (including acquisition, acquisition/rehabilitation, new construction, down payment and closing costs) that will be used as their principal place of residence.
The online application portal will open on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 8:00am, and close on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 11:59pm (or until 50 applications have been submitted). Applications must be submitted online, and will be processed on a first submitted, first qualified, first served basis, subject to funding availability. Eligible applicants can apply by visiting the website at https://pbcgov.com/HED. NOTE: Additional program information and required documents needed are also located on the website.
MANDATORY: Before submitting an application, ALL applicants are required to attend one of the Virtual Mandatory Orientations noted below:
· Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 10am or Thursday, September 21, 2023 @ 2pm
· Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10am or Thursday, September 28, 2023 @ 2pm
· Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 10am or Thursday, October 5, 2023 @ 2pm
· Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 10am or Thursday, October 12, 2023 @ 2pm
