PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Another doctor is suing a patient over bad reviews posted online. This time, Dentist Peter Habashy who practices in Palm Beach Gardens is suing Sarah Goldman and Sean Lane. Both allegedly posted reviews on several websites. The reviews were not flattering. Habashy calls them inaccurate.

Among the reviews: “I should have known something felt off when they asked for the payment first before the service was rendered. Absolute scam!! They were so upset that I didn’t want to pay the extra $500 for a deep cleaning that they didn’t even do a proper regular cleaning which is what initially came in for. You could see the fumes when I said not today. They called it “superficial cleaning” which no where on the website states. A cleaning is a cleaning! It’s not rocket science. I basically paid $99 for someone to brush my teeth. Not even a little mouthwash was offered. I was in and out like it was a car wash. Waste of money I could’ve done that myself. No thank you'”

We are publishing the complete complaint here. Whether intentional or not, the original scan submitted to the Palm Beach County Clerk of Court by the dentist’s attorney is largely unreadable.

Habashy
The $99 cleaning advertised on the Habashy website.

What is readable is Dr. Habashy’s allegation that “these statements were made with malice and the intent to har Dr. Habashy’s business/trade/profession as well as Peter M. Habashy. PA. These statements were published to many people online and as such (illegible) in accordance with Defamation Laws.”

You can visit Dr. Habashy’s website here — and read about the $99 cleaning that is apparently the subject of the complaint. Habashy is represented by Attorney Daniel Hunt who lists a PO Box as his main address in Miami.

I think we have every right to be honest and truthful about the care we receive from doctors, dentists, health care workers, etc. Without fear of retribution.

This dentist is is beyond a joke trying to sue patients that were not happy with his service. Who in their right mind would ever step foot in that place.

James, this guy’s name is now duly noted and a dentist I will never ever go to. Hopefully a judge will see this lawsuit for what it really is and toss the thing. Just because the dentist didn’t like their comments doesn’t give him a right to sue. It’s just their experience that they didn’t like. What about the patients freedom of speech here? They’re not lying I’m assuming so why file a suit against them?
This will not go well for the dentist I’m betting and it will push future patients away. Folks like me would never use him knowing he’s that much of a baby!!

I was scammed by Sage dental. They did a deep on the left lower quadron. Hygienist cleaned my teeth. She didn’t buff them at the end, so l asked. Her reply was “we don’t do that.” I have never heard of that. I never needed the deep cleaning; never have an issue.

But what if the patient is being dishonest and attacking the practice like many of us are experiencing? You don’t think it is reasonable to defend our practices that we have spent our entire life building and can be torn down because you didn’t have the experience you thought you should of had? Maybe when medicine is completely socialized you will be finally happy. At that point, you will have an MBA medical practice owner that will laugh at your complaints.

Although I have no knowledge of whether what the patients indicated was true, I do know that the majority of physicians and dentists, welcome and encourage patient reviews.

I’m glad this Doctor filed a suit. No why? Because now I know what a scumbag he is after reading that review about the so-called cleaning they did. Everybody has a right to write their own review, and this suit will go NO WHERE! Hopefully these two patients handle this case Pro-Se and slap the shit out of the this moron in front of jurors!

I would stand in front of his office with a sign stating that this Dentist is suing his patients and it’s probably not safe to go there due to a possible pending lawsuit! I’d squish his business as fast as I could.

It’s free speech! If I’m not happy with a service you bet I’ll leave a bad review, whether for medical or restaurant or stores, etc!!!

In my opinion , any Dentist that sued his patients fir “ bad” reviews deserved those reviews. Case dismissed with prejudice.

The Google Reviews on his website state 5 stars, “a perfect score”, when it is actually 4.6. Here is something that already is shady, false advertising.
His “cleaning” discusses “scaling” but does not specific if periodontal issues are involved. He needs to update his website to provide actual content. This practice is scared of something bigger than. these 2 reviews.

I recently had the exact same issue with Boynton Plaza Dentistry in Boynton Beach. They claimed that I had several issues and required an advanced cleaning that would cost much more. They refused to do just a standard cleaning (that i had already paid for!) I walked out, sought a second opinion. The second dentist stated that all looked well and healthy. They did the standard cleaning and booked another appointment for 6 months later. Florida scams are getting to be too common and it’s sad that these scam artists get away with these bait-and-switch tactics.

I wrote a review of another Boca Dentist, that called ma and asked to remove my Facebook comment. I did not. The dentist removed the comment, and then barred me from his practice.

No way Gerald, how could he have your post removed? Just because he didn’t like it is no reason for them to cancel your post! That really sucks and would love to know the dentists name that did this. Totally crazy that someone can have another persons post removed because they didn’t like it!!!

Dental cleaning can be confusing. I got pushed to a “deep cleaning”, which I really did not need at that time (cording to oral history). It is really a “periodontal scaling or root planing”. Although it is common, it has its risks. It is actually cutting away at gum line. Doctors need to call it what it really is – a cutting operation.

If the patient has the right to place information that may or may not be accurate and it can hurt the doctors business, why wouldn’t they be allowed to contest this information for accuracy. This is fair as it allows for them to deep dive and determine if the information is false. You can’t have it one way and not allow the doctor to protect his practice. Private practice is under attack and patients won’t understand implications until you all are receiving socialized medicine.
