BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is facing two counts of child abuse after allegedly engaging in a fight with her sibling. A previous version of this story reported that the suspect, Brittany Prisco, was accused of throwing fecal matter or urine during the dispute. Palm Beach County law enforcement reached out to BocaNewsNow.com to share that the charge indicating “Fecal Matter” or “Bodily Fluid” was the result of a computer error during the booking process. The wrong statute was inadvertently entered. There is no allegation that either bodily fluids or fecal matter were thrown during the dispute.
Here’s what we do know from the updated police information: the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 10700 block of Haydn Drive in West Boca Raton around 11:40 in the morning on Wednesday. Cops were responding to a report of a physical altercation in a home on that street. The male victim, according to police, presented with red marks and scratches.
While investigating, police apparently determined that Pasco was allegedly responsible for the injuries. She was taken into custody. Among the updated charges: forced entry into a single family home and child abuse.
Prisco, according to police, had already completed a first appearance in court for the charges that included the “bodily fluid” transmission charge. It was not immediately clear if she will need to reappear for an updated “first appearance.” Her next court date, as of Wednesday afternoon, is set for October.
