BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Popular steak and seafood restaurant “Chops” at 101 Plaza Real in Boca Raton is facing multiple warnings after a health inspection by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The inspection, which occurred on September 22nd, did not result in an order for the restaurant to close, but does require an unannounced follow-up inspection.

Intermediate – No measuring device available for measuring utensil surface temperature when using hot water as sanitizer in a dishmachine. Operator unable to provide device. Warning
Intermediate – No chemical test kit provided when using sanitizer at three-compartment sink/warewashing machine or wiping cloths. Quaternary Warning.
Intermediate – Operator is doing a special process, conducting reduced oxygen packaging, cooking time/temperature control for safety food to a time and temperature combination lesser than those in the Food Code or operating a molluscan shellfish tank for human consumption without a HACCP plan approved by the Division of Hotels and Restaurants. ROP of fish Warning
Intermediate – Water with a temperature of at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit not provided/shut off at employee handwash sink. One hand sink at dish wash area Warning.
Basic – Ceiling/ceiling tiles/vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance. Vents in fish cooler and food prep cooler Warning.
Chops was ordered closed back in January of 2022 for multiple issues logged by health inspectors. The restaurant was closed for two days. Chops Boca Raton was not ordered to close following the September 22, 2023 inspection.
