DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Kings Point resident convicted of possessing cocaine, selling cocaine, and using a two-way communications device while doing it, is back in the Palm Beach County Jail — according to records shared with BocaNewsNow.com on Saturday.

Gilbert Valdes, who lives in Brittany H, was “recommitted” to jail on Friday. That traditionally suggests that someone was on probation or on a supervised release program and violated the terms of that release. True to form, the Palm Beach County Clerk of Court’s office says that Valdes was sentenced to three years of probation for the cocaine conviction in August. It was not immediately clear what he is now accused of doing that landed him back behind bars.

Valdes is at least the 16th arrest logged of a Kings Point Delray Beach resident in 2023, and the 38th since the start of 2022. BocaNewsNow.com’s unofficial count suggests that more Kings Point Delray Beach residents are arrested and jailed than residents of any other community in South Palm Beach County.

Among the crimes allegedly committed by Kings Point residents: drug dealing, drunk driving, sex offenses, battery, a man who allegedly shot at someone for walking their dog on a golf course, a woman who resisted arrest, and more. Read our Kings Point Delray Beach coverage here.
