BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton is suing a developer who allegedly owes the Club more than $100,000. The lawsuit was just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.

The suit alleges that a company called “Dufkop Development, LLC,” with named principals Pierre Dufour, Carlos Kopecny, Diane Chayer, and Cynthia Kopencny, purchased a home as part of the St. Andrews “Builder/Investor” program. In simple terms, the program requires builders and investors to buy a membership fee, but are told that fee will be refunded when the house is sold.

However, St. Andrews alleges that Dufkop, which purchased property at 17747 Foxborough Lane, never paid the money owed. It’s now suing for $147,126.86. Wrote attorneys for St. Andrews: “From June 1, 2023 through September 30, 2023, BUILDER and GUARANTORS have not paid the CLUB for the sums required by the documents. BUILDER and GUARANTORS have breached the Builder Agreement by failing to pay dues, assessments, fees and other charges owed to the CLUB commencing June 1, 2023 through September 30, 2023, and the CLUB has suffered damages as a result of BUILDER’s and GUARANTORS’ failure to pay the outstanding dues, assessments, fees and other charges.

As of September 30, 2023, BUILDER and GUARANTORS owe the CLUB the sum of One Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Twenty-Seven Dollars and Eighty-Six Cents ($147,127.86), plus attorneys’ fees and costs which BUILDER and GUARANTORS have failed and refused to pay notwithstanding that the CLUB’s undersigned counsel issued a demand letter dated August 16, 2023 to BUILDER and GUARANTORS that their account was in arrears and if the sums due are not paid to the CLUB it would result in the institution of legal action.”

That legal action is now underway. You can read the complete lawsuit — which we note includes all the rules and regulations of living in St. Andrews Country Club, right here. There was no immediate response filed by Dufkop.
