DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach woman is facing a felony DUI charge and multiple additional moving violations after being stopped by Delray Beach Police on Saturday.
Loren Gerginski of the 1000 block of Kokomo Key Lane was arrested in the area of Atlantic Avenue and NE 7th Avenue in Delray around 12:30 in the morning. Police, according to citations reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, allegedly watched her drive an ASPT Golf Cart into a bicycle lane. The golf cart had a license plate, so presumably was “street legal.” However, Gerginski was not. Police say her driver’s license had been revoked.
Gerginski’s breath alcohol, according to police, was nearly three times the legal limit. It was recorded as .214. The legal limit is .08. You are not allowed to drive a golf cart while under the influence any more than you can drive a traditional motor vehicle.
Gerginski was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 5:27 Saturday morning and released several hours later on her own recognizance. The official charge: “DUI – Unlawful Blood Alcohol — DUI breath Alcohol .08 or more per 210L.” A court date is pending.
