DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man — apparently not all that bright — videotaped himself shooting a gun, then posted it to social media. He just entered a guilty plea to possessing a gun while a convicted felon. The United States Department of Justice provided this advisory to BocaNewsNow.com:
Dominic Elvir, 26, of Delray Beach, discharged a Glock, model 19, 9mm pistol into the air in the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Area. Law enforcement agents located a video of Elvir on a social media platform discharging the firearm in the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Area in Martin County, Florida. In 2019, Elvir was previously convicted of burglary and grand theft.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 21, before United States District Court Judge Aileen M. Cannon. Elvir faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe for the Southern District of Florida; Special Agent in Charge Christopher A. Robinson of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Miami Field Office; and Special Agent in Charge Anthony Salisbury of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Miami Field Office, announced the guilty plea.
