DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you’re asking yourself what goes on in Kings Point Delray Beach, you’re not alone. One normally thinks of a senior living community as a place a calm and relaxation. But Kings Point seems to be a home to accused criminals. The community just logged its 20th arrest of 2023. That puts it just one away from the record set in 2022 of 21. For those counting at home, there have now been 42 arrests of Kings Point Delray Beach residents since the start of 2022.

The latest: Jason Wessel of the Burgandy section. He was arrested on October 20th on one count of not showing up for a court hearing. Records obtained from the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts suggest that the case he allegedly skipped appearing for involved stealing goods from the Home Depot on Jog Road. He was charged for that over the summer of 2022.

Wessel was booked into jail on October 20th just after 3 a.m. He was later released on $2,000 bond. We note that Wessel is just 47 years old. That is significantly younger than what one normally considers to be appropriate for living in a senior community. It is unclear why — or how — Wessel was approved to live on the property.

Among other crimes allegedly committed by Kings Point Delray Beach residents over the past two years: Drug dealing, drunk driving, sex offenses, battery, a man who allegedly shot at someone for walking their dog on a golf course, a woman who resisted arrest, and more.
