DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man is dead and the driver of the vehicle that struck him is not facing charges — at least not as of Monday morning. Delray Beach resident William Redman, 75, was struck and killed by a car driven by Selma Jacobs, 93, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Redman was apparently walking on the shoulder of Michelangelo Blvd. which is just west of Jog Road, around 10:15 Thursday morning. That’s when police say he was hit by Selma Jacobs driving a 2006 Honda Accord.
Redman was transported to Delray Medical Center. He died Saturday evening. Jacobs did not sustain an injury during the crash.
Investigators continue to review what happened. It was not immediately clear whether Redman may have walked into the road, or if Jacobs drove onto the shoulder. The street is located in the community of Vizcaya.
