Real Housewife From NJ, Relationship Expert To Speak At Jewish Event In Boynton As Hostages Remain In Gaza And Israel and Hamas Remain At War.
OUR VIEW: Tone Deaf Event By Mandel JCC Boynton.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Jews across South Florida, and the world, remain outraged, scared, and saddened as more than 200 hostages are believed to be held in Gaza by Hamas. That follows the brutal execution of Israeli citizens — including children and babies — during the October 7th attack. The resulting war in Israel has led Jews nationwide to stress the importance of the Jewish faith and seriousness of the Jewish religion. Which is why we wonder whether it’s appropriate for the Mandel JCC of Boynton Beach to promote “An Evening With A Real Housewife!” on January 25th.
The email promoting the event, apparently sent to thousands of Jews and others across South Florida by the Mandel JCC, has generated quite a response from BocaNewsNow.com readers who have asked us to determine if the program — about relationships — is real. We reached out to the JCC and received no response. The promotion reads “The Mandel JCC Presents Love, Marriage and Gossip. Margaret Josephs from the Real Housewives of NJ and Rori Sassoon Relationship Expert.” It’s set for January 25th at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale next week. We note Ms. Josephs charges between $10,000 and $20,000 to speak at events. We do not know her charge for this appearance.
In fact, while Israel and Hamas seem far from any sort of relationship whatsoever, People Magazine is ironically focusing this week on Margaret Joseph’s falling out with fellow castmate Jackie Goldschneider. “Jackie and I are not where we used to be in life,” said Josephs to People. “We’re not where we used to be which is sad.”
This is high quality stuff coming to the Mandel JCC, as the lack of relationship between Israel and Hamas has led to more than ten thousand civilian deaths. The JCC should definitely bring in a relationship expert and a Real Housewife.
We ask you for your comments on the Mandel JCC event. Is it appropriate? Is it a needed respite from the seriousness of the world in which we live? Or is it completely tone deaf from an organization that should be promoting the best that Judaism has to offer, not caricatures.
Andrew Colton hosts South Florida’s First News, weekdays 6-10 a.m., on Miami/Fort Lauderdale’s NewsRadio 610 WIOD, streaming live worldwide here and in the iHeart Radio App, also simulcast on 105.9 HD2. It’s South Florida’s top rated commercial English-language morning radio news program.

“An Evening With a Real Housewife” belongs at an entertainment venue–hey there, Boca Black Box! The Real Housewives franchise is just another place for Z-list drama queens with non-existent brains…

I am not Jewish but I do see the conflict here. In itself, having a relationship expert at this time is not a bad thing and if done properly by Rori Sassoon , it can be tied into conflicts between people of different religious, political, and cultural backgrounds as well as relationships involving neighbors, co-workers friends, family, children, spouses, and significant others. The problem for me here is Margaret Josephs who is a self-centered, self-promoting, self-entitled prima donna who gets along with no one. She treats her husband like an adoring puppy, threw a groom into the swimming pool on his wedding day in his own home because she got angry with him ( by the way, they were friends), and battles with her cast mates on Real Housewives of New Jersey constantly, yada yada yada. Get the picture? What does this woman know about relationships that is constructive and mature? Nothing! Tell her to stay home! Her presence cheapens the event. If Rori Sassoon is truly an expert in effective relationships, the world needs more people like her, especially now.

Why are you getting into this. Obviously you are against it so you are bringing attention to it by doing this. This is the same thing you did with your anti dog rant.

Arthur, this is ridiculous but the issue with dogs in supermarkets & restaurants is anything but…they belong at home…period! Only a true documented service animals should be allowed, anyone else doing this is just an entitled jerk & it should not be tolerated!! Anyways, seems to be against the law. Take your pets to a pet store if you must but not where folks eat & shop…it’s disgusting!!!
If one can’t leave their pet at home, let them get the mental help they need & let the rest of us be as your issues are not our issues…get help!! -
Art, the dog issue is a valid issue, this is not. Dogs do not belong in supermarkets or restaurants. Why is this such a difficult concept!!!

From a business standpoint, when dates have been booked and speakers have been paid, someone is now tasked with the job of promoting and selling tickets. I’m not sure how her speaking at the JCC ties into a war in another country. No matter what opinions people have formed about her based off of her reality show, we should all try to be kind and treat people as we would want to be treated.

As a Jewish woman and a Zionist, with many friends in Israel , I can tell you that
Daily life goes on there. A friend who is a reseservist, and actively called to serve ,
he and his troops made sure that a wedding for one of his troops took place.
Others I know have had Bat Mitzvah, others have gone on holiday. LIFE GOES ON.I would not be attending anything that has to do with Real Housewives, or any other
Reality TV Show…it’s a waste of my intelligence. Anyone else who chooses to go, that’s up to them, and I pass no judgement. -
Pretty said state of tissue community and the JCC when they think bringing and real housewife in to speak about healthy relationships. These women are the worst examples of the Golden Rule and treating others with respect that America or the world has to offer. Hard no to any housewife, but can’t you find a relationship expert who is part of this community?
