BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman is dead and a man is in custody following what is now a bizarre incident in Boynton Beach on Wednesday. What started as a murder is now a case that involve questionable police conduct. It turns out the victim — and her killer — were in the Boynton Beach Police Department just before the murder took place.

MEDIA ADVISORY #1 FROM BOYNTON BEACH POLICE:
Robens Cesar, 41, has been apprehended and charged with first-degree murder following a tragic incident this morning in Boynton Beach. The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a distress call at approximately 8:50 AM reporting a shooting in the 600 block of Meadows Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased female victim lying in the roadway, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Officers were quickly able to identify Robens Cesar as a primary suspect in this case. A short time later, Cesar was located in the 100 Block of NW 14th Ave. and taken into protective custody. Cesar has since been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the suspect is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The Boynton Beach Police Department is actively investigating events which transpired immediately prior to yesterday’s shooting resulting in the loss of a woman’s life on November 8th. The victim and the suspect, identified as Robens Cesar, were at the Boynton Beach Police Department prior to the shooting incident. Based on these events an internal affairs investigation has been authorized to ensure all actions taken were in accordance with established policies and procedures. As in similar cases the involved officer has been placed on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation. The loss of any life is a tragic event, and the Boynton Beach Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
