An FCIC/NCIC check revealed the registered owner, Eric McGeary, to have no FL DL with suspensions as a result of multiple DUIs and court-ordered condition violations.

The vehicle had dark tints and I was unable to observe any indicators that the registered owner was not operating the vehicle. At the time of the stop, McGeary had been suspended since 2021 as a result of a DUI, therefore, notice had been provided and he was operating with knowledge.

Furthermore, McGeary stated he knew he shouldn’t be driving but went to pick up his girlfriend “really quick”. A records check on Mcgeary revealed that he was currently under felony probation for driving without a drivers license. McGeary’s probationary status was verified with DOC and one of his conditions is no operation of motor vehicles Based upon the above information, Mcgaary was operating a motor vehicle with knowledge of his suspension in violation of FSS 322.34(2A).

  1. I would like to see more posts from our county and city police officers. As a military veteran, people are always taking me for my service. I think the same should be done for all police officers in our area and around the nation. Every day these officers are faced with a multiple of situations that help us, protect us, including enforcing the laws. Unfortunately, their lives are put on the line every hour of every day no matter what type of call they are on. So next time you see an officer, thank them for the job they are doing and offer your support. I know it means a lot to me when someone thanks me for my military service.
