DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 71-year-old man was killed Saturday night in what police are calling a “hit and run.” Delray Beach Police released this statement to BocaNewsNow.com Sunday afternoon:
A 71-year-old man lost his life in a hit-and-run crash on the evening of November 11, 2023. The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. at 1301 SW. 10th Avenue in Delray Beach. Witnesses at the scene report that the victim was walking when he was struck by the suspect vehicle, described as a dark cherry red or dark colored 2013 to 2016 Chevy Malibu. After the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, heading southbound towards Linton Boulevard. The injured man died at the scene.
The suspect vehicle was believed to have sustained significant damage to its front end, including the grill, headlights, windshield, and the front end driver’s side fog light cover.
