Infant Drowns In West Boca Raton, PBSO Investigating

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County Fire Rescue rushed to the scene of a reported drowning Monday afternoon in West Boca Raton. The apparent victim: an infant roughly six months old.

The child was rushed to West Boca Medical Center in cardiac arrest, according to sources familiar with the emergency response. The child’s condition was unclear just after 5 p.m. We have learned that the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was also called to the scene in the 6700 block of Palmetto Circle South.

The nature of the drowning was also not immediately clear. While there is a pool at the complex where the drowning was reported, it was not immediately known whether the child was in the pool, a bathtub, or another body of water. It was unclear whether the infant drowned in a pool, bathtub, or other body of water.

  1. “West” Boca Raton is WEST of Florida’s Turnpike; based on a previous post, shouldn’t this be “Central” Boca Raton? if you want to distinguish incorporated versus unincorporated, why not use the latter terminology? There are parts of the City of Boca Raton further west than the location in question.
