The Adventures Of Nurse Knowsbetter: Dog In Delray Beach Publix Leads To Our Award

Welcome To Boca Rudeton For Saturday. You’d Think This Woman, Dressed As a Medical Professional, Wouldn’t Put Other Shoppers At Risk.

A woman we are calling Nurse Knowsbetter certainly should know that Publix does not permit pets in stores, nor pets wearing “service” collars that seem to have been purchased online.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Welcome to the Adventures of Nurse Knowsbetter! We don’t know her name, although we assume we will within a few hours. She’s a doctor, a nurse, or medical assistant, or someone who likes to dress as a medical professional, bringing what appears to be a non-medical dog into a Publix. That means she’s our winner of today’s Boca Rudeton.

Publix No Pet Signs
Pets are not allowed in Publix, as the supermarket chain is now enforcing federal and state laws.

This South Palm Beach County Publix — in the 4700 block of West Atlantic — is not supposed to allow people with pets inside… it’s also not supposed to let people with what appear to be fake service animal collars — easily purchased from Amazon or other stores — inside. It’s difficult to believe that this tiny dog provides any sort of legitimate service for which it was officially trained and carries official papers. If it doesn’t, you’re looking at a violation of federal and Florida law. Animals are not allowed in stores where food is being sold.

The woman we’re calling “Nurse Knowsbetter,” you are our winner! We don’t give out prizes, but if we did, you’d win four needlesticks that lead to bandages with the words “I have a dog problem” written on them.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send us your submissions by using the Animal In Stores link above. Share your comments about this person and her dog, below. Boca Rudeton™ is a trademark of Metro Desk Media, LLC. Rude people who think it’s okay to bring their dogs everywhere, like they’re children, are a trademark of South Palm Beach County.

  1. Auto-correct failed: In title, should be Shoppers, not Shopers 🤓

Quite possibly NOT a medical professional, but a veterinary assistant, nail technician, etc. Seems that almost every job is dressing in “scrubs” attire, these days.

  2. Only a matter of time when someone with a service dog sues you for slander… if you ever try to do this to me and my service dog while in Publix I’ll make sure to get my legal time on you in no time

    1. If you legally have a service dog, then you have nothing to worry about. People who own true service dogs are disgusted by the people who abuse the system. You should be glad Boca news is doing this. These people violate the law and are putting you in a position where you have to prove you have a service dog.

    2. Only a matter of time until there’s a kerfuffle with your licensed service dog and an imposter dog in a store that sells food. It seems apparent from pic that the “service” dog is not in tune with their handler.

    1. I agree the law should be enforced because it’s the law.
Never caught a cold from a dog anyway!
So , except for the blatant disrespect of the law what’s the drama about??
I must admit I wish people’s concerns for law enforcement were as vocal for enforcement on our ROADS!!! My chances of being killed by anything to do with a dog are FAR less than being killed by the criminal and deadly driving habits of too many people here here!!
Be more vocal bout that!! Bad drivers KILL PEOPLE!
      Do you use your turn

  3. You are only adding to the confusion. There are no official papers for service dogs
Therapy dogs may have a docum
ent stating so. All a service dog has to do is perform at least one function. People with service dogs display patches etc so people will leave themselves and their dogs, which come in all shapes, sizes and breeds, alone. People should not ask to pet, approach or otherwise distract their dogs. If the dog is a medical alert dog it can be a teacup size as long as it alerts

  4. Enough with this dog persecution. Jesus Christ, concentrate on doing some good in your community instead of complaining about petty stuff. Don’t like dogs in Publix, go to Walmart or another supermarket.

    1. How does following the law equate to “dog persecution”? Please explain this to me as I don’t understand your point. There’s laws on the books about speeding so in your world, we’re “persecuting” folks that speed & get caught? There’s laws against killing others but if we prosecute someone who killed another person, we’re “persecuting” them for this?
Maris, your logic is so twisted, it looks like a figure eight! Seriously though, your answer about shopping elsewhere is just plain DUMB!! So here we are, folks like you are part of the problem. So…just knock it off already!!!

  5. Tired of your antics and lack of accurate professional journalism

How do you know this isn’t a true service dog? I understand there are many that abuse this law and take advantage and purchase service dog collars but it seems that this particular news service is always jumping to the “rudeton” title without all the facts. Under law you are allowed to ask two question and two questions only in relation to a questionable service dog situation. Those questions are: “Is this a service dog” and “what is it trained to do for you”. You are not allowed to ask what a person’s disability is. All I ever see in this reporting is a picture of the person in question and the title rudeton connected to it but nothing about if it truly is or is not a service dog based of any official questioning or accurate reporting. It seems that you take the approach of shaming and bullying over true accurate reporting and it is sad to see that you don’t have compassion for your fellow humans to get the truth. Do I think that those who take advantage of the system by falsely representing their pets as service animals is ok? NO but there are other ways to go about it to help stop the situation at hand rather than defamation or shaming of someone else especially when you don’t know the actual truth and are just posting pictures someone submits to you. Maybe focus on true hard facts for once…

    1. Seriously??? Your response is pretty lame. What part of not allowed in supermarkets don’t you seem to get? Folks with true service animals should label them as such and there’d be no problem. This is really very easy folks. Always do the right thing in life and you’ll have no issues. There’s no place for entitlement anymore!!
Leave your animals at home. If you can’t shop with out one, get the medical help you seem to need & don’t subject the rest of us to this nonsense!!!
