BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There’s a lot of serious news this weekend — from a child shot and killed to a fatal crash that shut I-95 for more than eight hours. So let’s turn to Boca Rudeton for a Saturday smile and eye-roll.

We start at Boca Raton Town Center Mall where the driver of the tiny Chevy SUV apparently thought no one see it if it parked under a tree, on a hill. Guess what? We see you! And double guess what?! It’s not a parking spot. And people who drove around for quite some time trying to find a parking spot are mightily annoyed that you decided to just drive onto the grass and leave your car. Driver of tiny Chevy SUV who made his or her own space Saturday at Boca Raton’s Town Center Mall, you are our parking Boca Rudeton winner for the day. You’ll, of course, receive our autographed copy of the Florida driving and parking manual — that’s if we ever decide to order copies and send them out.

We now turn to Fresh Market in Boca Raton where one of our readers nominates this clueless woman who felt it was okay to bring her dog into a store that sells food in the open. First, it is a crime. Federal and state laws prohibit what you’re seeing above — which is exactly why Publix banned the practice and even enforces its ban from time to time. Second, even if it’s not illegal, it’s gross, no matter how cute the dog is or isn’t. Third, just leave your damn dog at home. It’s not that hard to schedule your life. If you’re going to the supermarket, don’t bring the dog. Do, however, bring your common sense. So to the woman with the short hair and long dog, you are our “Boca Rudeton: Dog Edition” winner for Saturday. We will (maybe) send to you a list of lawyer names so if you are ever prosecuted for doing what you’re seen doing in the photo, you’ll have a list of attorneys who may or may not take your case.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the “animal in stores” and “Boca Rudeton” menu buttons, above. Leave your comments about our latest winners, below. 1. Yes.People love to break or stretch rules.Only because we care but don’t give a damn.No more discipline in this country.Need to prosecute all these people. That includes Congressman.

  1. While Publix is attempting to comply with the law regarding dogs…it would be extremely useful if the signs were trilingual–adding Spanish and French to the sign

  2. I hate these self-righteous, no shame having people that bring their dogs into public indoor spaces, especially grocery stores. They know they’re breaking the law but they’re shameless. We still need to publicly shame these people until they get why and stop.

  3. This problem is widespread. Retailers are afraid that these animal loving terrorists will sue them.
True service animals are not emotional support animals. Most of the dogs I have observed are pets with papers. The laws need changing!
