BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A child was shot and killed Saturday morning and now the Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to come forward.

BSO issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com.

At approximately 8:19 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting a shooting near the 3000 block of West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac. Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies located a child suffering from a gunshot wound.

The child was accompanied by an adult female. Deputies quickly established a perimeter to investigate. Paramedics pronounced the child deceased on scene. BSO’s Homicide Unit detectives were notified and are currently investigating the circumstances leading up to this fatal shooting.
