PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A dead man in a street led police to arrest another man on Tuesday. That man, Frederick Williams, is now in custody. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the arrest report which states Williams started asking questions about the man who was found dead in the 900 Block of South E Street in LWB. At one point, Williams allegedly told police that he could identity the victim.

From the police report: “On Thursday, November 30th, 2023, at approximately 10:28 a.m., the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Communication Call Center received a 9-1-1 emergency call reporting a possibly deceased black male in the alleyway on the east side of 916 S E Street (St. Andrews Lutheran Church) located in the city of Lake Worth Beach. Palm Beach County Deputies arrived in the area at approximately 10:31 a.m. and located the male, lying on his back on the east side of the alleyway, who appeared to have several gunshot wounds to the left side of his head. The male was pronounced deceased at 10:35 a.m. At the time of the males’ discovery, he was wearing a long sleeve Calvin Klein crewneck sweatshirt, long light-washed blue jeans with fake rips in the pant legs, and black Nike sneakers. At around 11:13 a.m., detectives with the Palm Beach County Violent Crimes Division- Homicide Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. Located on the west side of the alleyway, parallel to the decedent, was a spent 9mm WIN Luger casings along with multiple items such as swimming goggles, bottles of sunscreen, 2 vanity license plates, and 3 inflatable water floats (2 blue and 1 yellow). Possibly blood was observed on the yellow floaty.”

Despite the Florida Supreme Court striking down most of Marsy’s Law days ago — a law that had protected victim names — the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office redacted the victim’s name from the police report filed with the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts. We have asked for the name to be released, following the Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling that victims do not have a right to protection.

This is the initial advisory issued by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office: “Around 10:30 am, PBSO dispatch received a call from a resident advising that a deceased male was lying in the 900 block of South E Street, in the City of Lake Worth Beach.  Upon arrival deputies located an adult male deceased from what appears to be gunshot wounds. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division arrived on scene to investigate this death as a homicide. At this time, suspect information and motive is unknown.”
