UPDATE AT 5:20 p.m. — Official statement from Boca Raton Police. Read it, below.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A vehicle struck a Brightline Train Saturday afternoon in the area of West Hidden Valley Boulevard. That’s south of Linton Boulevard near the City of Boca Raton and City of Delray Beach line.
One person was in the vehicle and requested transport to an area hospital. Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that it’s a man in his early 30s and he did not sustain serious injuries. It was not immediately clear what led to the crash.
It is not believed that any other person was in the vehicle. There are no reports of anyone on the Brightline Train sustaining injuries.
An investigation is now underway to determine how the vehicle and train collided, whether weather is a factor, or whether the driver may have attempted to run a crossing — unaware that Brightline was approaching the intersection.
We will update once we receive information from Boca Raton Police or Boca Raton Fire Rescue which responded to the scene.

Clearly, you can’t fix stupid…but perhaps the Brightline can eliminate it one idiot at a time! Seriously…how does someone hit a train?? Distracted on a cell phone with a false sense of entitlement.
Relax Valerie, maybe it was an auto-pilot glitch. We wont have all the details until the civil trial.
exactly he thought he was faster than a train.
Man in car did not yield and obey traffic and light signs gets in path of train.
is anyone tracking the amount of Brightline accidents? there are more train accidents here than in all of NYC
Actually, more than any other major rail service in the United States. Multiple organizations are tracking.
So why not redact the headline to reflect the actual incident?
Frank, we report in order. It was accurate when written. The Subheadline reflected the update.
