UPDATE: 2:14 p.m. — We’re told the scene is under control. Emergency responders are clearing. Evacuation orders are being lifted.

UPDATE: 1:45 p.m. — A preschool in the shopping center near the Synagogue is also being evacuated.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene of a suspicious package at Congregation Shaarei Kodesh in the 19700 block of Hampton Drive in West Boca Raton.

According to PBSO, investigators were notified of the package early this afternoon. That generated a sizable response from police and fire professionals who are now on the scene.

PBSO tells BocaNewsNow.com that the package was delivered by the U.S. post office and the congregation and “a nearby school” were evacuated.

Roads are closed on Kimberly Blvd. between Lyons Road and U.S. 441. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
