BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is facing an assault charge after allegedly chasing a ten-year-old boy who was the victim of a fight on the Broken Sound Country Club basketball court. That ten-year-old, according to the report, had already been beaten up by Jared Hollander’s son after things got out of hand during a youth basketball game.

We have redacted the last names of several children named in the Boca Raton Police Report which accuses Hollander of not just encouraging kids to fight, but then chasing one of them and threatening him with death.

“I responded to 2300 Willow Springs Drive in Broken Sound in reference to a battery investigation. Upon arrival, contact was made with Grant (10 YOA), Tristian (12 20A), Ari (10 YOA), Benjamin (11 YOA). According to Ari, he was playing basketball at the basketball courts with Tristian, Grant, and Benjamin. While playing, Benjamin intentionally elbowed Tristan and he called a foul. After this, Benjamin walked up to his father, Jared Hollander, who was nearby by the refreshment area. During this time, Ari, Tristan, and Grant followed, at which time Benjamin suddenly began fighting Grant, while Jared was encouraging him.

Suddenly; Jared began to chase Grant throughout the nearby parking lot while screaming at him. Ari advised after Grant was being chased by Jared, he went down on his knees to show he wasn’t involved, at which time, Benjamin approached and kicked him in the stomach, It should be noted, Ari’s mother, Romy was on scene and advised she observed Jared chasing Grant while screaming and cursing at him throughout the parking lot. She also observed Benjamin kick Ari in the stomach. Weiss further advised, while chasing Grant, Jared was yelling, “you mother-fu–er, I’m going to kill you”, however at no point did Jared become physical with Grant.”

Multiple witnesses, according to the report, made similar accusations to police.

Jared Hollander was arrested by the Boca Raton Police Department on December 22nd and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. He was released on his own recognizance later in the day. A court date is pending. We note the incident occurred in September, but the State Attorney’s office reviewed the case for several months before ultimately deciding to prosecute, and ordering Hollander’s arrest.
