BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman celebrating her 80th birthday in Century Village Boca Raton on December 31st was the last arrest of 2023 in unincorporated Palm Beach County.
Sandra Silverman, 80, of Hythe C in Century Village, was taken into custody just after noon on Sunday. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 1:58 p.m. and remains there Monday morning. In all of her 80 years, it seems Silverman never celebrated New Year’s Eve in jail. That changed as 2023 became 2024. Silverman is accused of “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.” It’s unclear who she didn’t intend to kill with a deadly weapon as 2023 wrapped up. She’s being held without bond.
As 2024 got underway, Boca Raton Police arrested Emily Dillard of Sanford, Florida. The 19-year-old is accused of grand theft auto. It was not immediately clear where she was arrested or what led police to believe she had stolen a vehicle. She is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $5000 bond as of 10 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
We note it is possible that other defendants were arrested before or after Silverman and Dillard, but these are the local arrests seemingly first processed by the Palm Beach County Jail.
