BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 20-year-old Boynton Beach man is dead, the victim of a hit and run on the Florida Turnpike near Glades Road. Florida Highway Patrol provided this narrative to BocaNewsNow.com early Monday afternoon. We note that FHP is using the following abbreviations: Vehicle 1 (V-1) – Red Toyota, unknown model and year. Vehicle 2 (V-2) – 2012 green Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.

“Vehicle 1 (V-1) was reportedly traveling north on northbound Florida’s Turnpike approaching Glades Road, unknown lane. Vehicle 2 (V-2) was traveling north on northbound Florida’s Turnpike approaching Glades road, upon the outside paved travel lane. For reasons still under investigation, the driver of V-1, (D-1), changed lanes into the outside lane, into the path of V-2.  V-1’s right side sideswiped V-2’s left side and subsequently V-2 was pushed towards the outside shoulder.

D-2 separated from V-2 and rolled onto V-1’s hood. D-2 was carried by V-1 428 ft from V-2’s final rest and was located on the east grass ditch in a prone position facing west. D-1 fled the scene northbound. V-2 came to final rest upon the northbound outside shoulder on its right and facing south.  Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the traffic crash scene for medical assistance.  D-2 succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of the traffic crash and was pronounced deceased at the traffic crash scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. This is still an ongoing investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Florida Highway Patrol. The crash was reported around 5:30 Monday morning.
