DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach woman was jailed early Saturday after allegedly causing a costly crash in the City of Delray Beach.

While the arrest report continues to be processed, jail and court records reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com indicate that Samantha Grout of Congress Park Drive in Delray Beach was involved in a crash in the area of 166 SE 2nd Avenue in Delray around 11:49 a.m. on Friday. Grout was driving a 2018 Dodge at the time of the incident which police say yielded $50,000 in damage. It was not immediately clear what happened between 11:49 a.m. on Friday and early Saturday morning when she was locked up.

Grout is officially charged with DUI — damage to a person or property. She also, according to police, refused to submit to a breath or blood alcohol test. That results in an automatic license suspension. Her citation states that she is not eligible for a permit while the case moves through the court system.

Grout was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 7 a.m. on Saturday. She was released on $1,000 bond at 6:30 Saturday night. She was arraigned prior to her release. She is set to be back in court on February 22nd, 2024.
