UPDATE AT 1:10 p.m. — A witness tells BocaNewsNow.com that this started as a stolen vehicle investigation involving Florida Highway Patrol. The driver of the vehicle crashed into multiple cars on Atlantic Avenue in the area of “The Office” restaurant, then fled on foot. That suspect was ultimately captured. At least four people were injured. We will update with official word from FHP just as soon as FHP releases official information.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Florida Highway Patrol is saying nothing as of midday Tuesday about an overnight crash that left four people injured. The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on East Atlantic Avenue. Law enforcement sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that FHP “was involved with the vehicle that crashed.”

Whether the crash was the result of a pursuit, a criminal investigation, or involved a police vehicle remains unclear. It’s also unclear why FHP — which traditionally releases information within hours of an incident — is seemingly withholding details.

Delray Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene to find two vehicles that collided. Of note: another crash in the area involved a car into a pole, resulting in another injury. It’s unclear if the two scenes are related.

If you have details of the crash or photos from the scene, please share them with news (at) BocaNewsNow.com, or test 561-576-NEWS.
