BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A person who parked outside Bloomingdale’s at the Boca Raton Town Center Mall (also known as the Boca Raton Toilet Center Mall due to the amount of dog feces often seen inside) parked like someone shopping at Bloomingdale’s at the Boca Raton Town Center Mall.
A reader has nominated this shopper for today’s Boca Rudeton distinction. We have to say that we couldn’t agree more.
This one isn’t even questionable. The Mercedes driver, for reasons that may never be known, decided that the car with Florida license plate PDEC85 needs to park in multiple spaces in the garage. This isn’t, “I accidentally was on the line.” This is, “I’m special, I am driving my Mercedes to Bloomingdale’s and I live in Boca Raton,” sort of driving and parking. And for that, we bestow this wonderful citizen of Boca Raton — or presumably somewhere in Florida (but presumably Boca Raton or Delray Beach) with the Boca Rudeton award of the day.
We, of course, don’t give prizes, but if we did, this person would receive access to a personal valet who will no doubt have to carry all of the goods being purchased at Bloomingdale’s on one day back the next, because, “this one makes me look fat, this one makes me look old, and this one is too similar to my daughter-in-law’s on Long Island.”

I’ve tried to find an available handicapped spot myself at the mall (and many other places in Boca Raton) many times to no avail. There aren’t enough , especially when “they’re baaack”. I drive an older Hyundai and have a legal placard but I don’t take up two spaces. I can see both sides of the equation.
The Mercedes driver took up too much space. Period.

After 35 years in South Florida, mostly Boca, I left the country. Although not the major reason, the rudeness, entitlement attitude and lack of civility contributed to my decision.

I couldn’t agree more. These journalists on this site need a hug or something. Their anger and inability to reason through other possibilities is unfortunate, to say the least. You can tell they despise successful folks. They can only see the world through a very small lens. We should all pitch in and get them a “hugging machine”, along with some other tools for them to release their anger.

Exactly right ! If you can’t park properly you should have someone drive you, take an Uber Etc. I would never leave my car parked like that but then again .oh ya, I am thoughtful of other people that are looking for THAT parking space that they took up two of.
