BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — BocaNewsNow.com has learned that additional cases of measles have been reported in the Broward County School District, after we first reported on one case Friday night.
Broward County School District Chief Communications and Legislative Affairs Officer John J. Sullivan issued this statement:
“The health, safety and welfare of our students and staff remain our utmost priority. The District continues to work closely with the Florida Department of Health – Broward following three additional confirmed measles cases at Manatee Bay Elementary School. The school’s principal is keeping families informed and following health department guidelines to safeguard our community.”
Manatee Bay Elementary is located in Weston. There are no cases reported in the Palm Beach County School District as of midday Saturday. Anyone fearing exposure, however, should contact their doctor immediately.
