BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man will spend twelve years in prison after being found guilty of causing a fatal crash in 2021.
Christopher Gallon of Sonrisa Way in Boca Raton was found guilty of DUI manslaughter, DUI injury, and reckless driving on December 12th. He was sentenced on Friday to twelve years in prison and a lifetime drivers license revocation. He’ll never again be permitted to drive in Florida.
As we first reported shortly after the crash, police charged Gallon with the death of David Hernandez, 21, of Buena Vista Court in Boca Raton. This is from the police report:
“Christopher Gallon was heading south on Camino Del Sol approaching the intersection of Palm D Oro Road, at a high rate of speed. David Hernandez was a passenger in the car — A Toyota Corolla.
As the Corolla approached the intersection, the driver of a Nissan Rogue started to turn left from Palm D Oro Road. Gallon, driving the Corolla, struck the front left of the Rogue which forced the Corolla onto a grassy median. Once on the median, the Corolla started to skid, causing it to flip onto its roof.
Passenger David Hernandez, 21, of Buena Vista Court, was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center.”
Gallon had not been assigned a facility by the Florida Department of Corrections as of Saturday morning, February 24, 2024.
