BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A homeowner from the Lotus community on Lyons Road in West Boca Raton was released from the Palm Beach County Jail early Saturday morning following her Friday night arrest for battery.

Dana Melnikoff was taken into custody late Friday and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail around 10 p.m. It was not immediately clear who she is accused of battering, what happened that led to police involvement, or whether anyone was injured. The arrest report continued to be processed mid-morning Saturday.

Melnikoff was previously arrested in April of 2022 when she allegedly shoplifted from Home Depot at Glades and U.S. 441 in West Boca Raton. She entered into a pre-trial diversion program with prosecutors who ultimately agreed to not prosecute the case. She successfully completed a shoplifting education course — which presumably teaches one not to shoplift. Her husband filed for divorce a few months later. That divorce proceeding continues in the Palm Beach County court system.

Melnikoff, who lists a home valued at just under $1M in the 8000 block of White Wave Terrace as her home address, was released on $1,000 bond. A court date is pending.
