UPDATE: Traffic is starting to move as of 8:22 p.m.

MIAMI, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you’re expecting friends or family that are heading to Palm Beach County from Miami-Dade, good luck. I-95 has been completely closed northbound for hours, and the end of that closure may be nowhere in sight.

Police are investigating an incident just north of the Golden Glades. Traffic is backed up basically to the City of Miami — which is more than ten miles. The incident occurred mid-afternoon Saturday and remains under investigation as of 7 p.m.

Express lanes are also completely closed.

Police do seem to be letting some traffic through on a shoulder — and intermittently on the GGI overpass — but it’s a few cars at a time and is exceptionally slow. Drive time from City of Miami to the Golden Glades is now more than an hour.

Consider heading west on the Dolphin or Airport Expressway (112) to I-75, then travel north to the Sawgrass where you may take 595 to the Turnpike. It could take two hours to accomplish. Or just get a room and try again in the morning.

  1. You have a great gig with “bocanewsnow” but to me is really disappointing publishing about “dogs in Publix Supermarkets”. I want to see real news not such petty news. I hope the USA becomes like the Netherlands where dogs are welcomed everywhere and anywhere!

    1. Maybe you would be happier in the Netherlands.
I don’t want dogs roaming around , peeing and defecating where I buy my food.
I also don’t want dogs sitting in the shopping cart where I put my food.
I also happen to love dogs.

      1. I totally agree with you Mike. My wife and I were in the grocery at the deli when an Irish setter peed all over the place. The owner had to pull the dog out of the store creating about a hundred foot long trail of dog urine. I felt bad for the dog and the owner but the truth is, dogs don’t belong in grocery stores and the small dogs shouldn’t have their butts planted in the carts where people put their food.

      2. Exactly! I agree wholeheartedly! The issue is with the owner, not necessarily the “animal”. I shouldn’t have to step over animal waste let alone smell it in the same place bread is being baked
