UPDATE: 10:40 a.m. — The FBI just shared this statement with BocaNewsNow.com. “I can confirm that the FBI along with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office was in the vicinity of the 19000 block of Carolina Circle, Boca Raton, Florida, this morning conducting court ordered law enforcement activity. During the course of operation, several percussive sounds were heard in the surrounding area. BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — With the disclaimer that this is a developing story and we’re awaiting official details from the FBI, multiple witnesses report to BocaNewsNow.com that agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation engaged in gunfire with a suspect in West Boca Raton early Tuesday morning.
The gunfire apparently involved the FBI’s attempt to execute a warrant in Southwind Lakes. A person was ultimately taken into custody. The action started around 6 a.m.
There are no reports of injuries. It was not immediately clear what led to the warrant service or what other agencies were involved.
Check back for updates. We expect to hear more from the FBI later Tuesday.
