UPDATE at 12:51 p.m. — Traffic is slowly flowing in the area again. We have learned at least one person is dead.
UPDATE at 11:48 a.m. — FDOT now confirms the incident is a multi-vehicle crash on the Ives Dairy Road on-ramp to I-95 Northbound. FDOT is listing this as a “major” incident.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The northbound lanes of I-95 are completely closed in the area of Ives Dairy Road, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. That’s just south of the Broward County line.
The closure started around 8:30 Sunday morning for an unspecified incident. It was not immediately clear if there was a crash, a road issue, or some other calamity. There are no reports of critical crashes, and cameras in the area are not showing a specific problem. We are awaiting an official response from the Florida Department of Transportation.
Anyone heading northbound into Broward County is being urged to use the Florida Turnpike, or even the Sawgrass Expressway — although that’s quite a westbound trek from I-95. U.S. 441 also runs north and south if you don’t mind a significant number of traffic lights.
Check back for updates throughout the afternoon.

Good current news.
Calamity – now that’s a word you don’t see every day.
As a trucker, North of 95 @ I -10 its hard to get a truck stop that’s got available parking….pick an Industrial Park.
North of there you can forget about your Circadian Rhythm.
Good that DOT now has the test to find out which Circadian a driver is born with.
Any accident, the test holds up in Courts.
You can lie and tell your company you’ll drive any 11 hour , but caught in an accident….yikes.
What happened…all this information and not a single definitive explanation for what happened to close down I-95.
Except for the update that specifically says a fatal crash.
