DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man was allegedly covered in vomit and asleep behind the wheel of his black Lexus when Delray Beach police were called to a driveway in the 300 block of Northwest 10th Avenue early Thursday morning. In a police report just released — and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, cops wrote this about Gunnar Schultz.

“Upon the arrival of police, (the responding officer) walked up the driveway of and noticed the blue Lexus sedan in the driveway. He noticed that the Lexus had struck another vehicle in the driveway. He observed a white male asleep behind the wheel, later identified as Gunner Schultz via his Florida Driver’s License. He was able to wake the subject and asked him to exit the vehicle through the front passenger door, due to an obstruction next to the driver side door. During the interaction he noticed that the vehicle was still running, and the car was in drive.

I made contact with Schultz in the driveway. Vomit was observed on his shirt and his hair was disheveled. His eyes were red and had a glassy appearance. An odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage was smelled emanating from his breathe as he spoke. Schultz had droopy eyelids and was sluggish. When he spoke there were times that he did not make sense. During the interaction, Schultz believed that he was in Boca Raton where he originally stated that he lived. He advised that he had been on his way home. Schultz was notified that I suspected him of driving while under the influence and consented to roadside task.”

Gunnar allegedly failed a series of field sobriety tests, then provided breath samples of .151 and .165. The legal limit in Florida is .08.

Gunnar Schultz, 23, lists the 700 block of West Camino Real as his home address. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on a charge of DUI with damage to property. Bond was set at $1,000. He was released with a court date pending.
