LiveATC.com has the audio of Southwest Flight 1575 taking off around 7:10 p.m. and then declaring an emergency when pilots realize an engine failed. The plane is guided out towards the Everglades and then directed back to FLL.

”We’re coming in pretty fast,” said a pilot to Air Traffic Control. “The engine is out.”

The plane, originally heading for Houston Hobby, landed safely with Fire Rescue units standing by. No one was injured. The plane is identified as a Boeing 737. It took off again a little after midnight and landed in Houston around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
