PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Don’t leave your car unattended at the airport. That is a message anyone who has been to an airport since the movie Airplane! was released knows, but it seems some people have a memory issue at PBIA. That’s where someone left a car unattended Monday morning, and authorities shut down departures for a brief period of time.

According to the airport and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, someone left their car unattended on the upper level of PBIA around 11:30 Monday morning. PBSO deputies, on constant patrol at the airport, couldn’t find the owner so became concerned. They halted all traffic entering and exiting the departures area.

After several public address announcements and a search in the terminal, the driver of the car was apparently found. Normal airport operations resumed just twenty minutes later. While that is long enough to create problems for someone running late, it was not enough to cause a massive disruption of air traffic into or out of the airport.

It was not immediately clear if the driver of the vehicle was ticketed or warned. There is no indication that the incident was anything more that stupidity on the part of the vehicle’s driver.

  1. The problem in Palm Beach county in Florida,is there are so many people that think they are entitled because they are wealthy!!!!!!!
The airport is only one place, they park right up front in “fire lanes”at almost any and every store.I’ve even seen people “double park”in front of stores because of this “mentality”!!Even restaurants, for the duration of their meal!!!!The worst culprits are the rich people from Palm Beach and Wellington,to the yuppies in Boca Raton!!
